Welcome to Pegagus Class (Reception)

Our class  teacher is Miss Baxter, with Miss Jackson on Friday mornings. They are both supported by Mrs Doyne, Miss Eatherley and Mrs Holdsworth.

Well, we have definitely come back to some chilly weather, don't forget to pack your child's wellies, hats, gloves and scarves as it is very cold!

This half term we are preparing for our school trip, so are doing lots of work about farms, animals and their babies, machinery and where food comes from. I'm hoping we will have a lovely day on our trip and see lots of new born.

In addition, we will also be dressing up for world book day, looking at our favourite books and sharing them with our friends.

We will then move onto health and link it to Sport Relief, so we will be getting healthy and doing some cooking. It should be a great week. We will finish this term looking at Easter and what that means and thinking about Spring (and hopefully some nicer weather!)

In phonics, we will be learning more blends and the sounds they make e.g. oo, ar, or, air. We will be writing the sounds and making sentences with them. I'm encouraging the children to do as much writing as possible in their own time, its great to see what they are producing.

We will continue to count in tens, ones and look at doubling and halving.

Many thanks for supporting your child's learning, it really does make a difference. If there is anything you are unsure of then do come and speak to one of the team.

Kind regards

The Reception Team
