Welcome to kraken class

Our class teacher is Mrs Deighton; she is supported by Miss Eatherley and Mrs Dean.  Miss Eatherley will be teaching PE on a Tuesday afternoon and she will also be teaching on a Friday morning.  Mrs Knight will be teaching art on a Wednesday afternoon.  This is to enable Mrs Deighton to complete her 'deputy' and safeguarding duties!  She is very much involved in the planning.

Welcome back!  I do hope you all had a lovely Christmas holiday - it all seems like a blur now!  Last term was just amazing, the children worked so hard and I was proud of every one of them.  This term, we are going to be joined by Mr Owen, a student who is completing his second placement with us - Miss Agar has swapped with him for the time being and will be back in March.  The children enjoyed getting to know him before Christmas.

The topic for this half-term is 'Fossils and Dinosaurs'.  Curriculum information will be sent home within the first week.  We are sure that the children will love this topic.

P.E. will take place on a Tuesday and swimming on a Friday (this will change to dance after February half-term).  Please ensure your child brings their kit on the appropriate days.

Homework will be sent on a Friday and should be returned on the following Thursday.  We are going to be introducing a new spelling scheme so this, plus timestables will be the main focus of our homework.

Children will bring home a reading book and reading record.  This can be used as a home/school book - so if you have anything you need to tell me about, please just jot it down in there and ask your child to show me your message.

As always, if you have any concerns, questions or worries, please do not hesitate to come in and see me at the end of the day or phone to make an appointment if you are unable to do so.  My door is always open.
